About the photographer, Andrew Dreibelbis
I grew up in suburban Philadelphia and currently reside near Harrisburg, PA. In 2001, I attended Penn State University and majored in Integrative Arts. Integrative Arts is an interdisciplinary degree which allowed me to pursue a variety of digital art forms. The media I gravitated to the most was photography. This certainly was not the first time I had taken pictures with a camera but it was where I learned how to create well constructed images.
As I'm sure people can relate, I had some trouble finding work in my desired field right out of college. I have a technical background and was able to find various jobs but nothing for which I had passion. I always enjoyed photography but never consider the possibility of making it more than a hobby.
In December of 2014, my mother passed away suddenly. After her passing, seeing some of the images I had taken framed and hung around her house brought back fond memories of both that time in my life and my mother. It was during the process of collecting pictures of her for the funeral that I realized how few pictures we had of her. Discovering our lack of photos also solidified the importance that pictures play preserving memories of times, places, and people.
I am a person who is passionate about creating work that I can be proud of and helping my clients create memories that will last a lifetime. I would love to meet with you to discuss what we can create together.
Why 1019 Photography?
Well, my wife and I got married on October 19, 2012, hence 1019. She has been a huge supporter of my ambition to follow this path. The picture above is of the two us on a recent trip to Chicago. We are underneath "the Bean" in Millennium Park. If you'd like to see some of the pictures we took click here.
Also, www.andrewdreibelbisphotography.com seemed a bit too cumbersome.
What kind of work do you do?
I love any chance I get to take out my camera and start shooting! Currently I am focusing on portrait and wedding/event photography, but am open to discuss any other ideas you might have.
I shoot in a photo-journalistic style, looking to capture images "in the moment". In my spare time I love to get pictures of landscapes, foliage, and whatever nature throws my direction. You can examples of my work in the "albums" section of my site.
